  • 7-9pm: Screening of Oscar-nominated documentary War/Dance, with opening comments from Jason Russell, founder of Invisible Children

Monday, February 25th

Symposium at George Washington University

  • 8:00-9:30am: Registration and Continental Breakfast (provided free of charge), Lisner Auditorium
  • 9:30-11:30am: Keynote Panel, Lisner Auditorium
  • 11:30-12:30pm: Lunch (provided free of charge)
  • 12:30-2:00pm: Panel Session I*, Marvin Center
  • 2:15-3:45pm: Panel Session II*, Marvin Center
  • 4:00-5:30: Panel Session III*, Marvin Center
  • 6:15-11: Dinner on own and optional social events

*Participants will be given the choice of attending several panels on a wide range of topics, including:

  • What are the prospects for an end to the war?
  • What is the situation on the ground?
  • What are the components of sustainable peace?
  • What is the U.S. role in the region, and how does the U.S. role in the world influence its policies toward the region?

Tuesday, February 26th

Lobby Day

*Meet at Hyatt Regency Hotel, Capitol Hill (400 New Jersey Ave NW, near Union Station)*

  • 8:00-10:00am: Lobby training for participants and opening remarks from special guests
  • 10:00-12:00pm: Participants visit offices of their Senators to lobby for US support of ongoing peace talks and for funding of resettlement and reconstruction efforts in northern Uganda
  • 12:00-1:00pm: Lunch on own
  • 1:00-4:00pm: Participants visit offices of their Representatives to lobby for US support of ongoing peace talks and for funding of resettlement and reconstruction efforts in northern Uganda
  • 4:00-6:00pm: Closing reception with Members of Congress
